Where do we get our marching orders? John 5:19-20
Jesus explained to the religious leaders that he didn’t act on his own, but that he did only what he sees God, his heavenly do.
What a perfect example for us to follow. We are so prone to act on every idea that seems right to us without first praying about it. Sadly, even when we do pray, we tend to ask God to bless our plans instead of asking God what his plans are for us. If Jesus needed to spend time talking to God about how he should proceed, how much more should we do the same?
John 5:19-20
New Living Translation (NLT)
19 So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. In fact, the Father will show him how to do even greater works than healing this man. Then you will truly be astonished.
