Trust in the LORD – Proverbs 3:5-6
Do you sometimes feel you are lost in a forest (or jungle) when you have big decisions to make? One group of friends pushes you to make risky choices while another scolds you for even considering it. Do you dare ask your parents?
If you start by praying to God about these decisions, no matter how big or small, you can be confident that he will not lead you astray.
Do you have an uneasy feeling about it? God gave you a conscience for a reason. Peer pressure can be hard on a teen’s conscience – everybody’s doing it, right? Wrong! “Everybody” is a mighty big word that gets thrown around when it really means a bunch of youth in a certain group. And it is possible for an entire crowd of youth to be wrong.
So pray, pray, pray… until you have real peace about it. Pray until you have the confidence to ask your parents – they really do want what is best for you.
You have a whole lifetime ahead of you. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
